The one-time download

Salience makes sounds locally rather than in the cloud, which needs a one-time download of the engine and model files, the same one described in Install and first run. After that, generation runs entirely on your machine.

If Salience says it can't reach the model server, or the model list failed to load, that's a connectivity issue, not a corrupted install. Check your connection and retry; an existing setup is unaffected. Need more room first? See Disk space.
